"The Devil is a lie" has become my saying. When faced with someone or a situation that challenges my self-worth, I rely on that phrase. My self-help book focuses on exploring what self-worth and talents are and why they are important. Together, I examine the different ways in which self-worth can be challenged and the negative effects this can have on our lives. I also talk about the benefits of developing a strong sense of self-worth, including increased confidence, resilience, and self-esteem.

As a woman, mental health is an essential aspect of overall well-being, and it affects individuals of all genders, races, and backgrounds. However, research has shown that women of color in the United States face unique mental health challenges that are often overlooked and underserved.

Discovering talents and skills is an individual journey that varies for each person, including women of color. Here are some general steps that you can take to discover your talents and skills.

  1. Self-reflection: Take time for introspection and self-discovery. Reflect on your interests, passions, and things that bring you joy. Think about activities or subjects that you naturally gravitate towards and enjoy engaging in.

  2. Explore different areas: Be open to exploring various fields and disciplines. Try new activities, take classes, join clubs or organizations, and engage in different hobbies. This allows you to discover new talents and skills you may not have been aware of.

  3. Seek guidance and mentorship: Look for mentors and role models who can provide guidance and support on your journey of self-discovery. Seek out individuals who have experience in fields you're interested in or who have a strong understanding of personal development.

  4. Embrace curiosity and learning: Stay curious and continuously seek knowledge. Read books, attend workshops, watch documentaries, and engage in discussions to broaden your horizons and deepen your understanding of various subjects.

  5. Take risks and step out of your comfort zone: Sometimes, discovering talents and skills requires taking risks and stepping outside of your comfort zone. Embrace new challenges, try things that scare you a little, and don't be afraid of failure. It is through these experiences that you can uncover hidden talents and strengths.
